It’s early in the morning. That can only mean one thing. Airport time.
Airport Train
I’m not catching a flight. Always disappointing. But I am catching a train, to the Ravens Steelers game.
Parking at the airport is actually a pretty good option. Tons of spaces, and not many people take the train from BWI. That’s not to say not a lot of people take the train, they do, just not from BWI. This grantees me a seat.

It would have just been nice, if I didn’t miss the train, due to needing to take a piss. That left me with about 30min to kill1. So I hit the pre security observation lounge.
The lounge is pretty cool. You get a big window for looking at planes2, and some cool exhibits. Like this tower with a model of N214WN. The Southwest plane with the Maryland flag paint job.

There’s also a fuselage section from a Boeing 737-200. All dressed up for Christmas.

With my time killing over, I headed back to the train station, ticket in hand.

It was off to the game.
The Game
Unfortunately, the train was running late. So I missed kick off. But none the less. I was there.

Thankfully I didn’t miss any real action. Except for the low altitude flyover3. I had high hopes for this game. Of all the games I wanted us to win, this was the one. Seeing the Steelers lose in person was going to be fantastic. And then they scored first…
Yeah, things were not going well for us. For basically the rest of the game. Never able to pull ahead. We even missed an extra point kick. It was not looking good in the 4th. Until this happened.
We got a touchdown!! That pulled us ahead!! However… The refs ruled the pass incomplete… The stadium started chanting bullshit, as it was pretty clear the pass was good. In the end, we lost, with Jackson getting sacked.
… What the hell is wrong with this team. Play like a Raven my ass. We’re playing like an over fed pidgin. And what the fuck was up with that ref call. Even the Steelers fans were scratching their heads over that ruling4.
A Disturbing Lack Of Flying
Back at the airport, I had calmed down a lot. BWI is a bit of a comfort food airport for me. Not my favorite, not the flashiest. But damn, is it relaxing.

At least us and Pittsburgh can agree on something today. The Bengals losing is always great news.
